NPR of EUROPE

The European subsidiary of the Japanese NPR (NIPPON PISTON RING) is NPR of EUROPE, or NE for short. NE's headquarters and warehouse are located in the heart of the German automotive industry, not far from Stuttgart. NE combines high Japanese quality with German precision and expertise.

NPR manufactures 130 million rings annually, primarily for original equipment (OE). They supply parts for many Japanese and European vehicles, including TOYOTA, HONDA, ISUZU, NISSAN, MITSUBISHI, KAWASAKI, DAIMLER, AUDI, BMW, VOLKSWAGEN, and AMG race cars. NPR is also present in the aftermarket, offering OE-quality parts to their reseller partners. In Hungary, NOVOPOLMA Kft. is the official distributor for NE. The two companies have been working together since 1997.

In recent years, NE has expanded its original product range. In addition to piston rings, their portfolio now includes pistons, crankshaft bearings, engine valves, engine gaskets, oil pumps, and water pumps.

Due to innovations in the automotive industry, automotive suppliers are also delivering parts that meet increasingly higher demands. For example, the advent of turbochargers, the use of direct injection, and the trend towards downsizing have led to increased mechanical stress on engine components. As a result of increased loads (e.g., heat and pressure), components are made from more resistant materials or are given special coatings. NE's response to automotive challenges:

1. PVD-coated piston rings

  • characterized by very high surface hardness

  • exceptional wear resistance

  • possesses very favorable friction properties

2. Cerrox and Nefrox coated crankshaft bearings

  • 3-layer coating, cost-effective due to galvanization

  • a worthy competitor to sputtered bearings

  • extremely high load capacity (up to 1,500,000 km mileage achievable for trucks in OE applications)
